ELECTRIC MAN (408B)
Electric Man
TET – 38"-40" E – 4"
spacerA very bright electric coloured red with a black-red eye zone. Ext.; Sev.; 3-4 way branching; bud count 28+; Reg. 2007 (FOOLED ME X MISTER LUCKY) Over the past several years, we have observed this daylily growing in our selection bed and it has stood out as one to be noticed. If you are familiar with Van Seller’s MISTER LUCKY it is very similar in colour to it. ELECTRIC MAN is one of the first to start blooming in our selected seedling beds. With its height of scape and bud count it just attracts your attention in the garden putting on a wonderful display that is certainly noticed at a distance. One fault it does have and the reason I have not introduced it before this, is quite often the bottom petal will have what we call petal tongue. In other words this petal curves up on both sides and does not lay flat like the rest of the petals. I find this fault very objectionable and held it for some time wondering whether it deserved to be introduced. Well after several years of it being one of the finest performers in that early garden, I decided that it indeed did deserve to be introduced, because of all the other good characteristics it displayed. Just a great garden plant with a very bright sharp coloured flower. Because we have a large stock of this daylily and the problem with the bottom petal not opening up the way I would like; we are offering this daylily at a very reasonable introductory price. Fertile both ways.
