My sweet mother-in-law loved flowers and gardening. Even after her
sight had gone, she said she could see my daylilies in her mind's eye.
She wasn’t a "delicate" person, rather a mover and shaker who lived in a
time when few women were. Sunshine, blue skies, and warm weather made
her days, and this flower is a nice representation of everything she
loved. A sunny yellow base is lightly overlaid with an earthiness of
peach-caramel brushing. MARY RUFFIN opens well, and despite it's petal
width and ruffling, always turns a happy face to the early morning. Like
it's namesake, it laughs at adversity (like wind, rain, and an occasional
tornado). Five-way branching and 35 buds are the norm, and you can
expect a nice long bloom season. (Atlanta Supreme X Smuggler's Gold) $35.00
